Launch of Hold on to Hope.

It’s all go here in Stratford because hot on the heels of last week’s announcement of being shortlisted for the Romantic Historical Novel of the year I’m pleased to tell you than the fourth book in my Wapping series.

For those of you who met Mattie’s sister Kate in my last book will know Kate learnt the hard way that falling in love with the
wrong man could be your undoing. It was nine years ago that she fell for the charms of Freddie Ellis, only to discover his criminal ways. With her husband in prison, Kate has fought hard to give her two children everything they could need. But now Freddie is back and threatens to destroy everything she has worked for. Captain Jonathan Quinn has resigned from the army after the needless death of too many of his men. But when his father disowns him and his fiancée breaks their engagement, Jonathan finds himself in desperate need of work. Accepting a friend's proposal of acting as headmaster at a local school, Jonathan is determined to leave the army behind and turn his life around. When Kate and Jonathan's paths cross, the attraction is instant. But with Kate still a married woman, they know it can never be. As Kate grows more distant, Jonathan finds solace in the arms of another woman, and Kate is left to wonder if she will ever find true love again...

It is as always available from Waterstones, Amazon, The Book Emporium and also downloadable from Kindle.   Enjoy.

Perhaps Tomorrow Short-Listed for Best Historical Read Award

I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that, Perhaps Tomorrow, has been shortlisted for the Romantic Novelists' Association's 2012 Historical Romantic Novel Award.perhapstomorrow

As you can imagine I was completely bowled over when my previous novel, A Glimpse at Happiness, was nominated for the Romantic Novelists' Association's Romantic Novel of the Year in 2010. That's was more than I ever dreamed of so to have a second novel Perhaps Tomorrow also shortlisted is almost unbelievable.

There are four other RNA romantic award categories, contemporary, epic, romantic comedy and young adult and the winner of each category will be announced at the their our Awards Eventin the Gladstone Library on the 5th March.

The winner of the Romantic Novel of the Year will then be selected by a panel of judges from the five RoNA category winners. The winner of the Romantic Novel of the Year will announced and the presentation made at the RNA's Summer Party in May.

Naturally I hope I am the one whose name is pulled out of the envelope as the winner of the Historical Romantic Novel but "Perhaps Tomorrow" is up against some cracking novels;

Highland Storms : Christina Courtenay (Choc Lit)
The Noble Assassin : Christie Dickason (HarperCollins)
Daughter of Siena : Marina Foriato (John Murray)
A Gathering Storm : Rachel Hore (Simon & Schuster)

Whatever the result it's still a thrill to be in the last six for the award and I'm sure it will be a brilliant evening.

Rescue Kittens

My creative juices were stemmed in a spectacular fashion yesterday when there was a knock at the door which sent my 8st Bernese mountain dog into a frenzy.

I opened the door to find two scruffy looking kids holding a bundle between them.

Abandon cat

They thrust it at me. ‘Wana by a couple of cats, Missus? Twenty quid.’

I wanted to say I’m a bit over subscribed for pets but suddenly there was a movement and a little black and white nose poked out.
